THE SCIENCE:
Several physician-
directed studies have been conducted on the combination of L-Arginine,
Ginseng, Ginko Biloba & Damiana [Shingaya Female Enhancement Formula]
including a recently completed double-blind placebo-controlled study on
women with mild to moderate sexual dysfunction -- the first of its kind
in the sexual health category.

INTRODUCTION
This pilot study explores
the role of nutritional supplementation in female sexual function. The
scientific literature indicates that certain botanical extracts,
vitamins, or amino acids may play a role in sexual function, including:
L-Arginine:
• Precursor to nitric
oxide (NO).
• NO may modulate vaginal
blood supply and smooth muscle relaxation.
• Supplementation impacts
NO production.
• May reduce
cell-mediated breakdown of cGMP.
Korean Ginseng (Panax
Ginseng):
• Ginsenosides may
up-regulate NOS activity, hence enhance the conversion of L-Arginine to
NO.
• Ginsenosides shown to
increase NO production in endothelial cells.
Ginkgo Biloba:
• Facilitates
microvascular circulation.
Damiana:
• Helps promote a relaxed
state of mind.
• Phyto-progestin
receptor binding activity.
This study examines a
systematically designed combinatorial nutritional supplement for the
enhancement of female sexual function using the Female Sexual Function
Index (FSFI), a validated assessment instrument.
METHODS:
• 77 women with sexual
dysfunction were enrolled in the study. They were broken into two groups
and randomly assigned active ingredients or placebo in a double blind
fashion. A baseline was established and all were given a physical
examination, BP measurement, and assessment using FSFI
• All were required to
take a daily regimen of the supplement for 4 weeks
The RESULTS (Based
on FSFI assessment) for the group given the active ingredients:
-
·
70.6% Had
improved in sexual desire level
-
·
73.5% Had
improved in satisfaction with sex life
-
·
67.1%
improved in frequency of orgasms
-
·
61.8% Had
improved in sexual relationship with partner
-
·
52.9%
improved in clitoral sensation to stimulation
Side Effects
No significant change in
blood pressure. No reports of headaches, nausea, stomach upset, chest
pain, dizziness, vision disturbance, or cardiovascular complications.
DISCUSSION
The study evaluated the
role of nutritional supplementation in female sexual health. Proposed
mechanism is through up-regulation of the nitric oxide (NO) pathway
resulting in smooth muscle relaxation, vascular dilatation, and
enhancement of peripheral circulation, resulting in improved clitoral
engorgement and vaginal lubrication.
Role of nutritional
supplements for sexual health is an infrequently discussed yet extremely
important subject which warrants in-depth research.
CONCLUSION
When given in proper
ratios the combination of ingredients appears to play a clinically
important role for nutritional supplementation in sexual health and
female sexual function.
INGREDIENTS:
L- Arginine:
- Enhances immune
function
- Improves sexual
function by increasing blood flow
- Stimulates the
production of growth hormone.
- Sheds fat and helps
build muscle.
- Promotes wound
healing.
- May inhibit the
growth of many different types of cancerous tumors.
- Aids in the
production of T-Cells enabling the body to better protect itself.
Vitamin B6: May
improve emotional outlook/mood through serotonin synthesis.
Calcium:
Promotes strong bones and helps with blood pressure control and PMS.
Ginseng:
Increases energy and circulation. Restores vitality and virility.
Damiana: contains
beta-sitosterol, a compound that helps in building sexual health and
reproductively. Stimulates circulation of blood flow raising energy
levels and helping to alleviate fatigue and stimulate weight loss.
Ginkgo Biloba: is
often referred to as a "living fossil" because it is believed to be the
world's oldest living species at about 200 million years old. The Ginkgo
tree has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 4,000 years.
Various parts of the Ginkgo tree were reportedly used in the treatment
of respiratory ailments, to improve circulation, as a digestive aid, as
a tonic for memory loss in the elderly and as a longevity elixir.
Dong Quai: has
been used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM ) and Native American
medicine for centuries. The plant is related to both parsley and celery
and is most commonly used to treat cramps and pain during menstruation
as well as to ease some of the symptoms of menopause (hot flashes, night
sweats). Dong quai is frequently referred to as “female ginseng” to
suggest its “balancing” or adaptogenic effect on the menstrual period.
Each bottle contains 60
tablets. Two tablets contain 3600MG of propriety blend. Take one tablet,
two times per day.
This product is sold in Europe and in the Middle East.
